Bella Musica is honoured to present Gheorghe Palcu as one of the singers for the upcoming recital on 27th January at 5.15pm in Dublin.
Gheorghe is a Romanian bass baritone with an impressive musical background. He graduated from the Music Conservatoire “Jacopo Tomadini” Udine, Italy, and is currently in his second year of a Master program at the CSM Cork in Ireland. Gheorghe’s musical repertoire is diverse, ranging from baroque to Verdi’s operas, and he has had numerous highlights throughout his career. He performed in Armida at the Arcola Theatre, Incoronation of Poppea at Cockpit, Don Giovanni in Hastings, London, and Marriage of Figaro in Deva, Hastings, and Thessaloniki among others. Gheorghe has also played the role of Don Alfonso in “Cosi fan tutte” for the Bergerd of Music Festival and the Birgitta Talinn Festival.
Gheorghe is a member of the ErQuesta Ensemble, and recently, he performed as Seneca in the Coronation of Poppea at the Arcola Theatre, where he was described as a “phenomenal performer.” Gheorghe has been recognised for his talent and skill in many competitions, including the Feis Ceoil competition in Dublin, where he was awarded the 2nd Prize bass soloist in 2022. He also won the Oratorio category at the Feis Matthew in Cork in 2023. He recently also added another three operas to his repertoire including “Agrippina” (Pallante), “Rinaldo “ (Argante), and the title role of Donizetti’s “Don Pasquale”, which he is performing in Italy this December.
